Bryn Mawr is officially vaccinating its students.
Shortly after Dean Walters’ March 31 email (which stated intentions to discuss vaccination plans during the summer), the college sent an unexpected announcement on April 6 that it would be partnering with a national pharmacy chain to distribute the Pfizer vaccine to all students (including postbaccalaureate, graduating and commuting students), staff and faculty, free of charge. The vaccine will be distributed on Monday, April 19 and Tuesday, April 20 at the Schwartz Gym from 8:00 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. Students will be expected to return on May 10 and 11 for the second dose of the vaccine.
Those who would like to be vaccinated must fill out this form by no later than 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 12 to schedule an appointment. Only those who have not received any vaccination from outside programs may schedule with the college.
The announcement came only days after Haverford’s email which stated that it would be fully vaccinating its students and employees. With both colleges aiming for immunization, the student body is now becoming increasingly hopeful for events such as May Day to occur before the semester’s end.
