On May 5, Bryn Mawr College student protestors chose to wear black clothing and keffiyehs to disrupt traditional May Day celebrations and show solidarity to the on-going violence against Palestinians in Gaza. May Day marked day 8 of the encampment on Merion Green. Students for Justice in Palestine urged for “continued resistance”, maintaining that “there is no normal May Day under genocide” and substituting normal May Day programming for an alternative schedule. This is a chronological depiction of those events.

Five Bi-Co a cappella groups joined together to sing historic songs for liberation in the Great Hall, followed by a reading highlighting the works of Palestinian playwrights and poets hosted by The Hypotheticals and Co. and the Shakespeare Performance Troupe in Rhoads.
Rally outside Goodhart Hall attracts over 300 students and community members.
