Quakerism in the News: Haverford Administration Proposes New “Silent Meeting Plenary”

In a move that they say is “absolutely not” intended to “silence student voices,” but rather to “encourage more mindful participation” in campus “discourse” and “honor Haverford’s Quaker legacy,” Haverford College has reworked Plenary to fit the structure of a silent Quaker Meeting for Worship. Students are welcomed to keep their thoughts about the new Plenary format to themselves.
