Bryn Mawr Reunion Weekend Marked By Pro-Palestinian Graffiti

As reunion weekend drew to a close on Sunday at Bryn Mawr College, instances of pro-Palestinian graffiti on buildings were reported around campus. President Wendy Cadge sent an email to the campus community, informing them that the Lower Merion Township Police Department had opened an investigation into the incident.

The graffiti on campus buildings read “BLOOD MONEY,” “FUCK BRYN MAWR,” and ” YOU FUND GENOCIDE.” This is not the first incident where pro-Palestinian graffiti has appeared on campus overnight. In October, graffiti on campus called for the college to divest from Israel.

According to the email from Cadge, Bryn Mawr College has also opened an internal investigation and will be pursuing disciplinary action to address the breach of the Honor Code. Cade stated that the incident was a “destruction of rental property” as the graffiti also appeared on golf carts and rented tents as well as campus buildings. The tires of the golf carts had also been slashed.

In her email, Cadge urged anyone with information about the event, including alumni who were on campus for reunion, to reach out to Campus Safety. The email concluded, “Nothing about these events diminishes the love and abundance our community shared this weekend and our continued focus – in the long and short terms – on our work together.”
