Despite 10 on-target shots, the Haverford women’s soccer team came up short of Muhlenberg, who scored their lone goal in the seventeenth minute. The Fords fought through the entire game, testing the opposing goalkeeper’s skills, but ultimately their opponent held fast. In another tight game for the women’s soccer team, this time Haverford came out on top. First year Sophia Mitchell scored Haverford’s lone goal for her second of the season, and goalkeepers Lily Buyer and Allie Billups combined for four saves to keep their opponents at zero. Despite an early goal from Salisbury, Haverford patiently waited for the right time to make their move, finally scoring directly before halftime. With the momentum in their favor, the Fords came out of the break strong, with first year Devyn Telleen scoring her first goal of the season in minute 46. Just 16 minutes later, Telleen struck again, putting the Fords up 3-1.

The Haverford men’s soccer team has continued their impressive trajectory into the tail end of regular competition, breaking the team’s all-time undefeated record previously set in 2015 at 16 games. Now having played 18 games without a loss, the Fords are looking very strong with conference playoffs coming up soon. Freshman Charles Sharp was recognized for his performance by the conference, being named Offensive Player of the Week after scoring four goals across two games and assisting the Fords’ one goal over McDaniel. The team has yet to break into national rankings, but they have started to receive some votes in the national poll and are currently ranked 4th in the region.

Haverford field hockey has been performing well over the past few weeks, defeating quite a few conference opponents and maintaining a top 25 rank nationally. The teams ranking had its peak at #16 and is currently holding steady at #19. In a 2-0 game, the team logged their first win against Ursinus in program history, followed by two more wins to set a new longest win streak and improve the program’s best start ever. This win streak met an unfortunate end against #13 Dickinson, which was followed by their first loss to an unranked team during a tense game against bi-co rival Bryn Mawr, but their record otherwise has remained strong. Sophomore goalie Steph Ionescu earned her second Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week award and NFHCA DIII Honorable Mention Defensive Player of the Week award this season after shutting Ursinus out in their historic win and an impressive performance in penalty strokes against Gettysburg.Â

Haverford posted a dominant win over Ursinus in their second consecutive sweep. After an early lead in their first set, Ursinus managed to get within two at 14-12, before the Fords finished the set on an 11-3 run. They continued their momentum into the second set, which they managed to take at 25-14. The last set proved to be the biggest challenge, as Ursinus managed to hold the home team close. The score was tied at 16-16 before Haverford managed to pull away, finally taking the final set 25-21. Saturday’s game proved to be a close loss against Gettysburg, despite what the score ended up showing. The Fords ended up losing their three sets 25-23, 26-24, and 26-24. Against another Centennial Conference rival, the Fords came away with a strong victory. After winning both of the first two sets at 25-19, Washington managed to fight back and win the third with a 25-17 victory, before Haverford took the win with the final set ending at 25-16. The match was a complete team victory, with first year Elizabeth Cella collecting 14 kills and 14 digs, and teammate Eliana Brown close behind with 11 kills and 14 digs.

During the Paul Short Run, junior Anastasia Jaycobs led the team, finishing 162nd out of 404 total racers. The scoring five all finished within 45 seconds of each other. The team also had a group running in the open race where the team was led by sophomore Bianca Ortiz, finishing in 285th. This performance boosted Haverford to 5th in the regional rankings, which is the highest they have been ranked since the 2022 season. The Fords carried this momentum into the Rowan Border Battle where they placed 7th out of 31 teams, their best finish since 2021. Junior Alice Sappenfield finished first for the team in 44th out of 296 competitors, and the five scorers all finished within the top 75. Haverford tied with Division II school Jefferson for third place at their home meet. Senior Audrey Carter led with an 18th place finish.

The Fords finished 22nd in the white race at the Paul Short Run out of 45 teams. Senior Micah Lachman led the team with a 22nd place finish out of 407 competitors. At the Rowan Border Battle, Haverford had an impressive 3rd place finish out of 35 teams, with Lachman finishing 1st and first-year Simon Lane finishing in 11th. The next two Haverford runners finished in the top 40, and the final scorer finished in the top 75. In the open race for this meet, the Fords finished 4th overall. At their Home Invitational, the team finished in third, with first-year Cole Branstrom finishing in 10th overall, followed by three more runners in the top 20.

Though the Owls have had a challenging conference season, they still have 5 wins, which is the most won games in a season since 2019. Bryn Mawr put up a strong fight against Haverford, holding them to 0-2 as opposed to last season’s score of 0-4. They also held a “Spread Respect” game to honor the work of several groups on campus. The Owls have been maintaining a strong defensive line all season and have managed to get a number of shots on goal, but have yet to score against a conference opponent this season.

The Bryn Mawr Field Hockey team defeated #16 Haverford in a last-minute goal from senior captain Maggie Barilla. Barilla tallied both goals in the Owls’ 2-1 win, netting the team’s first stroke goal of the season and win against a ranked opponent. The team fell to several conference opponents, despite competitive play throughout. Carrie Povich scored her first collegiate goal in the team’s 2-0 win against Muhlenberg. The Owls recognized seven seniors during senior day against #14 ranked Dickinson.

The Bryn Mawr Volleyball team started conference play, falling to competitive teams throughout. Emma Loller continues to lead the team in kills and digs, tallying 130 kills and 108 digs on the season. Amanda Hughes had 5 kills in a tough matchup against McDaniel, where the owls ultimately dropped 3 sets. Elise Perry and Tula Reihman lead the team defensively in blocks, with 30 and 27 respectively. Anna Dravk and Charlotte Mullen contribute to the team’s overall 363 assists on the season, with Dravk’s 153 digs and Mullen’s 135.

The Bryn Mawr cross country team had an exciting 2nd place finish at the Highlander Invitational headed by senior Sofie Prieto, who finished 7th overall. Senior Eva Ackley also finished in the top 10, followed by sophomores Rosa Carbon and Alyson Bostrom who finished in 16th and 17th. The Owls had another strong performance at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational, placing 16th. As in the last race, Ackley and Prieto led the pack, finishing in 82nd and 87th out of around 300 racers.

Bryn Mawr rowing started their fall season at the Head of the Housatonic, where they placed 6th, 15th, and 3rd. They followed up this performance at the Head of the Schuylkill, participating in 6 races, ending with a top 4 placement in 4 of them.Â
