Suffering from a midday craving for chicken tenders and fries but too lazy to walk across campus? Uncommon Grounds Café is debuting a new food delivery program! Between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., students can now order food and have it brought directly to their rooms from Bryn Mawr’s beloved Uncommon.
Director of Retail Operations Lisa Flanagan says that the delivery system is just “another option” for students, an expansion of the already existing order online option. She explains that students can now use their Onecard to place an order for delivery using the app “GET.”
“It’s just an app on your phone,” Flanagan explains, “It’s actually been in place for like three years.”
Flanagan hopes that the delivery option will increase business for UnCommon, and says she hopes to receive at least ten orders a day.
The delivery system is currently on a trial basis; if students do not utilize it, it will be deactivated. However, Flanagan says she is curious to discover if the Café would receive more delivery orders at night.
Nearly the entire Uncommon Grounds menu is available for delivery and Flanagan says patrons don’t have to worry about tipping; “It’s just a straight three-dollar delivery charge.”
Flanagan hopes that the delivery system will promote Onecard usage, increase sales for Uncommon, and be another accessible option for students.
