Though the Bryn Mawr track and field team has only reached the halfway point in their indoor season, they have already seen plenty of success and growth across the board, being ranked No. 7 in the Centennial Conference and No. 16 in the Metro Region. What stands out amongst the successes this season are the six records that have been broken in three different events.

In the first meet of the season, the triple jump record was broken by junior Jessica Johnson, surpassing her own record set in the 2022-2023 season. She was not finished there, as just a week later Johnson was able to better her jump from 10.48 to 10.80 meters. Continuing the streak of improvement, Johnson once again broke her own record at the fifth meet of the season, setting the current indoor triple jump record of 10.91 meters.

On the track, senior Lauren Kitay carried over her success from the cross country season in the spring, breaking a twelve year old school record in the 1000m race at the Seahawk Shootout. Since then, this record has been broken again by senior Malin Just with a time of 3:01.56. Two meets prior, Just ran 1:42.21 to set a new school record in the 600m as well, surpassing the previous record from fifteen years ago.
In addition to these achievements, the Owls have had twenty-three athletes set either all-time personal records or collegiate personal records so far, demonstrating the team-wide growth occurring this season. Looking to the future, the Bryn Mawr track and field team has four meets left until the Centennial Conference Championships. Multiple Owls have already qualified for the championships this year, and the team’s performance at this point in the season shows potential for more to join them.
