The Haverford women’s soccer team beat the Bryn Mawr Owls 4-0 last Wednesday afternoon on Walton Field. Although the Fords controlled possession for most of the first half, the score remained tied until first-year Clare Hawley was able to break through the Owls’ back line for her first career goal at Haverford College.
After half time, the Owls looked poised to strike back early, pressuring Haverford’s defense with their first shot of the game. However, Olivia Daulerio ’26 scored just two minutes into the second half to turn the tide back in Haverford’s favor. With this shift in momentum, the Fords were able to grow their lead with goals from Sarah Klink ’25 and Phoebe Garfield ’24. Combined with Allie Billups’ ’27 efforts in goal, the Fords were able to maintain their forward push for the remainder of the game.
This victory allowed the Haverford team to strengthen their push through conference play towards the playoffs. After a tie with Swarthmore College in their final game of the regular season on Saturday, the Fords finished the regular season ranked sixth in the conference, making the tournament. This marks their first appearance in the Centennial Conference Tournament since 2019. Previously in the season, Haverford tied 3-3 with F&M.
A following loss for the Owls against Dickinson College made their final record 0-9-1, placing last in the Centennial Conference. Without a spot in the playoffs, they will look ahead to next year.
