I write to correct the record regarding “Bryn Mawr SGA Announces Cancellation of Spring 2026 Big Cheese” (March 29). While the headline is accurate, the body of the article contains a number of misleading assertions. The decision to cancel Big Cheese was made solely by the SGA Executive Board. Invitees to the spring Big Cheese did not express an “unwillingness to attend if students were allowed to ask questions during the forum.” Rather, what was expressed was concern for how Big Cheese has devolved over time. I expressed, in my role as Advisor to SGA, a desire to evolve the format to facilitate a more respectful and constructive dialogue — still involving questions and answers but not as occurred most recently. My understanding (having only attended one), is that over time, Big Cheese has drifted from this principle of respectful and constructive dialogue. Our shared goal will be to restore the forum as a reimagined Big Cheese and a space where all of us can connect in open, candid dialogue, posing and answering questions with genuine curiosity and mutual respect.
